Effectiveness of tutoring for elementary reading and mathematics: results from two Best Evidence Synthesis

Abstract

At international level, tutoring is one of the most used instructional strategies in school useful to support academic learning of low achieving students or students with learning difficulties. This article aims to present the evidence of effectiveness of tutoring in primary school discussing the results of two Best Evidence Synthesis carried out by the Best Evidence Encyclopedia. This research method is considered, as meta-analysis, one of the most rigorous at international level.
