Abstract
Re-envisioning the school from its most fundamental structures upwards is an urgent pedagogical necessity, particularly if we are to support the emerging demand for change we find in every context we encounter. The article reflects critically on the current school crisis, in relation to the momentous changes in the world of work. It discusses some alternative experiences compared to the traditional school forms, referring in particular to a school innovation project, named A school Manifesto and proposed in several Italian schools.
