The «poetry of intelligence». <br>The education of children in the Lombardo Radice family. With unpublished letters.

Abstract

For Giuseppe Lombardo Radice the family has been an important environment for educational experimentation. His reflections on children's drawing and learning to read and write had in the education of his three children (Giuseppina, Laura and Lucio) an important laboratory of experimentation. His wife Gemma Harasim supported him in the most important phases of these experiments. The unpublished exchanges of letters with the children (and in particular with Lucio) represent an important basis of their writings collected in the book Athena fanciulla.
