Towards a sustainable learning in the changing University: when personalizing means enhancing

Abstract

Considering the present changes in society and work world, also higher educational institutions have to vary approaches and methodologies to respond to the important social function they take on: first of all university, as a privileged place where new knowledge and competences are generated. An open university oriented to the enhancement of knowledge, a university intended as a workshop for a new management.

There are many lines of action that could and still are undertaken, but, anyway, the collaboration with the whole system must be taken into account in a multi and interdisciplinary perspective.

In this necessarily systemic perspective, the promotion of a personalized education and teaching, which pay attention to the person in its richness and complexity, in its variety of expression and potential that has to be cultivated and freed, to reach the full realization of the human being as an individual, an education open to change, listening, understanding as well as the enhancement of creativity is crucial.
