Sustainability and Higher Education’s redesign

Abstract

The academic activity should be rethought in the light of the concept of sustainability. There are many issues linked to that problem: from attention to new disciplinary frontiers such as the circular economy, to the need to tacle the increase in inequalities, to the vulnerability of new social groups. In this context a new role for Universities comes out: a stronger commitment in the local skill ecosystem in order to make easier the transition of young people to the job market. This article offers some interesenting insight into this topic.
