Abstract

Can narrative paradigms be used for suggesting new paths in children literature studies? The essay aims at applying findings in narrative studies in the analysis of how best-seller books for children could have influenced seven-to-ten-year-old pupils’ way to write and express their feelings. More specifically, the paper is going to focus on how the way Edmondo De Amicis’ Cuore was written moulded narrative styles in children’s scholastic diaries, as the ones preserved in the archive "Mostra della scuola 1929" in Pistoia.
