Teacher training and apprenticeship in the DPCM of 4th August 2023: recovery of ‘SSIS’ model, adjustments, and ‘new’ features

Abstract

This essay focuses on the teacher training curriculum introduced by the ‘DPCM 4 agosto 2023’, also called ’60 CFU’ (60 ECTS). The new system should recover the positive values of precedent reforms, more than anything the experiences of Specialization schools for secondary teaching (SSIS) active from 2000 to 2010. Apprenticeship has proved to be the most significant benefit for aspiring teachers and schools in general, therefore could compensate the shorter duration.
