Abstract

«Well, what experiences? All those possible. It is important that he is the one to find the solutions, that he is the one to think, and that he is not given answers that eliminate all curiosity.»[1] (Manzi, 1996). It is from this statement, formulated by Master Alberto Manzi in his notes for the March 1996 conference in Genoa, that we intend to analyze school-to-work guidance pathways from an inclusive perspective. Such pathways, when viewed through the lens of Master Manzi’s thought, can be understood as fundamental tools for stimulating the curiosity and cognitive tension that he advocated, and for educating students with disabilities to think, that is to generate in them that critical thinking which underpins the exercise of their freedom of choice (Cottini, 2016), a positive perception of their self-efficacy (Bandura, 1996), and actions designed in accordance with the principle of self-determination (Wehmeyer, 1996).
