The City Becomes a Classroom. Stories and Workshops From the Crescere in Città in Turin

Abstract

The ‘Crescere in Città’ catalogue in Turin demonstrates how cities can become educational landscapes. Through mixed-methods research (2023–2025), including focus groups with teachers, the study highlights the role of storytelling in fostering civic participation and social cohesion. The findings reveal structural barriers alongside inter-institutional networks that aim to coordinate the region’s educational provision, through a model of “horizontal subsidiarity”, in line with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
