Children’s Literature in Knowledge Valorisation Practices: a Comparative Study of Selected Public Universities Worldwide
Abstract
Within the framework of Knowledge Valorisation in higher education, children’s literature can serve as a powerful means of fostering encounter, dialogue and exchange. It extends to the wider community and is accessible even in early childhood, while also promoting active citizenship practices. This article examines a selection of Public Engagement initiatives promoted by public universities at international level and focused on children’s literature. The aim is to highlight its potential to support processes of cultural participation and, through a comparative approach, to examine these projects in relation to the Uni in Fabula initiative at the University of Bergamo, reflecting on the university’s role as an agent of cultural and social mediation.
