The TFA/PAS model and the professionalization of teacher: a first balance

Abstract

This essay deals with the peculiarity of teacher professionalization promoted in some Italian post degree courses such as TFA (Tirocinio Formativo Attivo) and PAS (Percorso Abilitante Speciale). The authors discuss three exemples referred to University of Bologna and University of Bergamo, in order to show how their current organization is different from the complex model illustrated by DM 249/2010. In fact, there are important variations in their effectiveness and results, according to the decision-making autonomy of Italian Universities.
