The philosophical horizon of Pestalozzi's pedagogy. The two interpretations of Fichte and Germaine de Staël, between educational conversion and metamorphosis

Abstract

The following paper deals with Pestalozzi’s thought and educational practices focusing on two philosophical trends about education as self-education: the paradigm of the educational conversion and the perspective of the self metamorphosis. The author takes into account the interpretations formulated by Johann Gottlieb Fichte and Germaine de Staël, in order to show how Pestalozzi’s pedagogy could be considered in the philosophical horizon of a pedagogy aimed at a project of social emancipation.
