Educating for individuals and educating for the society in Lamberto Borghi’s thought

Abstract
Educating for developing self-determination and educating for stimulating social awareness are often seen as two contrasting processes. However, both of them are pivotal for our society. Can they be harmonized into a single process of education? As the question was already taken into account throughout the XX century by educational sciences, the paper aims at highlighting how Lamberto Borghi coped with the topic and tried to harmonize both the assumptions between 1950 and 1968.
