Perspectives of Critical Pedagogy in the light of the New social contract for education
Abstract
The structural convergence between the vision of the New social contract for education and the vision of the Critical Pedagogy ‒ to a large extent rooted in the Critical Theory ‒ is valued in bringing forward the same understanding of Reimagining our futures together, which implies the transcendence from the disimagination processes induced by the neoliberal capitalism. Seeing through this convergence allows to acknowledge an essential source of inspiration of the International Commission on the Futures of Education, which gives the opportunity to exploit further claims from the Critical Pedagogy as regards the issues left straight untreated in the Report, however essential to build up alternative equitable, peaceful and sustainable futures.
