Jewish roots in don Lorenzo Milani's pedagogy. Between closeness and distance
Abstract
The article sets out to explore don Lorenzo Milani's pedagogical choices, highlighting how these were influenced by his relationship with his father Albano and his Jewish identity. The relationship with his father, with whom he shared a passion for writing and certainly a deep reflection on various aspects of religion, played a fundamental role in don Milani's life and in the elaboration of his pedagogics. While maintaining his loyalty and obedience to the Church of Rome, he personally identified himself as being of Jewish descent. His strong affinity with Jewish culture would remain a central element of his life.
