Culture of word and Jewish origins. To the founding elements of don Lorenzo Milani pedagogy
Abstract
The essay aims to examine the figure of don Lorenzo Milani, considering the Jewish origins of the Christian priest as a founding element of his pedagogy. In education to the word – understood as an authentic expression of thought and subjective spiritual essence – don Milani's humanism appears, in which an original pedagogy – secular and, at the same time, prophetic – is aimed at seeking self-formation of human beings, especially the poorest, promoting their cultural and moral emancipation as the result of a free conscience and knowledge open to the critical interpretation of the world.
