Don Milani the rebel

Abstract

The essay aims to investigate the social and cultural roots of don Milani's rebellious attitude. Disobedience is the cipher in which to frame a complex biographical and experiential event: this attitude finds its ground within the family environment and the bourgeois culture to which it belongs, which for the young Lorenzo have always represented something to escape from, both through painting and, above all, the turning point represented by the vocation.
