Abstract
The university is at the center of a debate regarding its new social role, which is progressively affecting PhD programs as a bridge between academia and society. The role of supervisors in these programs is also shifting, moving towards more systemic and focused educational approaches, aimed at a highly educated target, with the goal of improving the quality of the PhD experience and creating innovative and diversified career paths.
