Recensione a G. D’Aprile, G. Bufalino, Eco-narrazioni. Atelier formativi per la cura educativa, FrancoAngeli, Milano 2024
Abstract
The volume Eco-narratives. Training workshops for educational care, edited by Gabriella D’Aprile and Giambattista Bufalino, documents a research-training project born from the collaboration between the University of Catania and the Municipality of Ragusa. The work proposes the construct of eco-narrative as a pedagogical device and space for care, aimed at promoting a culture of sustainability and listening. In the first part, the authors explore the value of storytelling through metaphors such as dreams, silence, and the ecology of fairy tales. The second part features teachers' experiences on topics such as empathy, legality, and the relationship with nature. Finally, in the third part of the volume, Gabriella D’Aprile and Giambattista Bufalino offer a recap of the methodological approach with Storie tra i banchi (Stories among the School Desks); and a rich bibliography and workshop proposal with Sogni di carta (Paper Dreams), which offers a useful working tool for teachers, educators, and trainers involved in designing eco-narrative courses in schools and training settings. The volume highlights storytelling as a tool capable of generating new forms of relationship with the Earth and with the Other.
